MINISTER SMITH MUST MOVE ON AEOS PLANS
IFA Rural Development Chairman, Tom Turley has urged the Minister for Agriculture Brendan Smith to immediately notify the 9,000 farmers who applied for the AEOS of their acceptance into the new agri-environmental scheme.

FUNDING OF FARM SCHEMES VITAL FOR FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE - IFA
In meetings with the Minister for Agriculture Brendan Smith and the Department of the Taoiseach this week, IFA President John Bryan highlighted the importance of maintaining Government funding for vital farm schemes, including REPS, AEOS the Suckler Cow and Disadvantaged Areas Scheme, to underpin the recovery of the agriculture sector in 2011 and beyond.

FARMERS SHOULD APPEAL AREA AID PROBLEMS IDENTIFIED
IFA Rural Development Chairman Tom Turley has encouraged farmers who have received letters from the Department of Agriculture outlining reductions in their land area, Single Farm Payment and Disadvantaged Areas to appeal their case to the Department of Agriculture.
