IFA CALL FOR FLEXIBILITY ON COMMONAGES STOCKING REVIEW
IFA Hill Committee Chairman Tom Fadian has called for flexibility in the review of the Commonage Framework Plans which will set down specific stocking levels on 7,000 commonages throughout the country, and which is expected to be in place from 2013.

IFA DESCRIBE MINISTER DEENIHAN’S PROPOSED TURF CUTTING FORUM OF LITTLE VALUE UNLESS IT DELIVERS PACKAGE
IFA SAC Project Team Chairman Padraic Divilly has described the proposed Turf Cutting Forum, which has been proposed by the Minister for Arts, Heritage & Gaeltacht Affairs Jimmy Deenihan as coming too late unless it is matched by a comprehensive package acceptable to farmers and turf cutters.

IFA PRESS MINISTER DEENIHAN FOR AN IMPROVED PACKAGE FOR TURF-CUTTERS
IFA SAC Project Chairman Padraic Divilly has called on the Minister for Heritage Jimmy Deenihan to introduce an improved offer for farmers who are being forced to cease turf-cutting on 51 designated SAC bogs.

TURF CUTTERS MUST BE OFFERED IMPROVED COMPENSATION FOR LIFETIME OF BOG
IFA Offaly County Chairman, Joe Parlon, has called on the Minister for Heritage Jimmy Deenihan to extend the compensation on offer for farmers restricted from turf cutting in SAC bogs from the current 15 years to the lifetime of the bog.
