AGRI INDUSTRY UNITES IN MESSAGE TO MINISTER COVENEY ON CAP REFORM
IFA President John Bryan and leaders from agri-industry joined forces in Dublin today (Wed) to reiterate the importance of achieving a deal on CAP Reform that supports primary production, which is the bedrock of our largest indigenous industry, creating output of €25bn, maintaining 300,000 jobs and delivering exports earnings of €9bn.

RETAILERS CAN NO LONGER IGNORE THE PLIGHT OF IRISH POULTRY PRODUCERS
Poultry and egg producers from across the country protested today at a number of major retail outlets in Dublin. The IFA National Poultry Committee Chairman Alo Mohan said that producers are being driven out of business by the failure of retailers to address the escalating production costs on farms.

GII/WEXFORD CREAMERY MERGER A WELCOME DEVELOPMENT – FOCUS NOW MUST BE ON SMALLER PLAYERS
IFA National Dairy Committee Chairman Kevin Kiersey today (Tues) welcomed the announcement that Glanbia GII would purchase Wexford Creamery, pending a favourable vote by Wexford Milk Producers shareholders and approval by the Competition Authority. He said that this move could further improve efficiencies and scale for the benefit of all dairy farmers in the region, whether they currently supply Wexford Creameries or GII.
