IFA TARGETS €250M REDUCTION IN INPUT AND SERVICE COSTS
IFA Inputs Project Team Leader, Chris Hayes, said that IFA is targeting a €250m reduction in input and service costs to farmers as Irish production costs are seriously out of line with our competitors and are eroding farm incomes.

GUARANTEED MINIMUM FLOOR PRICE CRITICAL BEFORE SOWING
IFA National Grain Committee Chairman Noel Delany has said that no farmer should take out spring cereal seed unless he can secure agreement on a minimum floor price for this year’s harvest or they have a higher value market for their grain, such as farm-to-farm trade.

GREENCORE CANNOT AXE LOYAL BARLEY GROWERS WITHOUT REDRESS
Traditional malting barley growers who have had their contracts terminated by Greencore without notice or redress will vent their anger at a protest at the company’s EGM in Dublin this morning (Tues). The meeting is being held to approve the sale of the malting business to French co-op Axereal.
