Nigel Renaghan was born and bred in Co. Monaghan in the heartland of traditional Irish chicken farming country.Nigel has been working on a farm all of his life. His interest in poultry started many years ago when he worked on a friends commercial egg farm and so he developed from there to studying poultry at college in Galway and then a further year in Monaghan Agricultural College. Nigel’s brother, father and mother have all helped out on he poultry unit making it very much a family affair. He has been supplying carton Brothers since 1990. As well as raising chickens Nigel also breeds pure breed Aberdeen Angus cattle.

- Its most important issues include producer margins and terms and conditions with its processor.
- The committee has regular involvement with Bord Bia, Department of Agriculture and the EPA.
