Draft budgetary plans

The Eurogroup will hold a follow-up debate on the implementation of the draft budgetary plans for 2016, particularly the commitments made by individual member states last November, during the Eurogroup’s regular discussion on the draft budgetary plans.

The debate will take place in the light of the Winter 2016 European economic forecast issued by the European Commission on 4 February 2016.

Ministers will also speak about the budgetary situation in the euro area as a whole.

Greece

The Eurogroup will exchange views on the ongoing implementation of Greece’s economic adjustment programme, focusing on the reforms required for the successful completion of the first review

Cyprus

The Eurogroup will discuss the Cyprus programme, financed by the European Stability Mechanism (ESM). The programme is due to expire on 31 March.

Benchmarking – Eurogroup’s thematic discussions

The Eurogroup will explore the possibility of making further use of benchmarking in the context of its regular thematic discussions. These focus on issues that are addressed in the recommendation on economic policy of the euro area, issued in the context of the European Semester.
