Atlantic and North Sea: Fishing opportunities for 2019

Ministers are due to agree on the 2019 fishing opportunities for the Atlantic and North Sea. The Council is responsible for fixing total allowable catches and allocating fishing opportunities. Decisions are taken on the basis of a proposal from the European Commission and scientific advice from the international council for the exploration of the sea (ICES).

Future of the CAP post 2020

The Council will also take stock of the progress made under Austrian presidency on the post 2020 Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) reform package. The three legislative proposals are designed to make the CAP fit for the future.
