Brexit: Tusk urges UK to clarify intentions

Brussels Daily

Donald Tusk urged the UK government to clarify its intentions regarding its next steps following the UK Parliament’s rejection of the withdrawal agreement on 15 January.

“If a deal is impossible, and no one wants no deal, then who will finally have the courage to say what the only positive solution is?”

The EU will continue its preparations for all the potential outcomes, including a no-deal scenario.

On 14 January, Presidents Tusk and Juncker exchanged letters with Prime Minister May. In their letter, the presidents responded to the points raised by the Prime Minister and provided clarifications to the Brexit withdrawal agreement and the political declaration.
