CAP, FORESTRY, CLIMATE CHANGE AND MORE ON THE AGENDA FOR THE WEEK AHEADCalendar
A busy week ahead next week with a number of IFA AGMs and engagements on CAP, forestry concerns and climate action.
On Monday, IFA will meet with Coilte to get an update on the work undertaken to ensure that farmers’ concerns with their partnerships are being addressed and there is greater transparency on the models used to calculate annual payments – read more.
On Tuesday, Joe Healy will address the Oireachtas Committee on Agriculture on climate change. He will set out the work farmers are undertaking to reduce emissions and outline the measures needed to support farmers to do more on the issue.
IFA representatives will attend a number of Department of Agriculture meetings on CAP this week. On Monday at 8pm in the Charleville Park Hotel; Tuesday at 8pm on in the Newgrange Hotel, Navan; and Wednesday in the Bush Hotel, Leitrim. IFA members are encouraged to attend the Department meetings on CAP to ensure they are informed and can give input.
Also next week, IFA will attend a meeting of Comhairle na Tuaithe to represent farmers in the discussions on the issues that need to be considered to support the future development of the outdoor recreation sector.
