Demand for Spring Lamb to Increase
IFA National Sheep Committee Chairman, John Lynskey has said demand for spring lamb will increase along with supplies as retailers continue the switch over from hoggets.
In addition, he said Ramadan starts on June 7th and this has already started to drive increased buying in the UK and southern Europe. Bord Bia promotions will also kick in later this month and should boost demand on the domestic market.
John Lynskey will this week meet with his counterparts from the NFU in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, and will discuss sheep issues, including markets, prices, supports, EID and other issues.
