EU Rural Networks’ Assembly launched
The EU Rural Networks’ Assembly was launched on its first meeting today, gathering 196 governmental, non-governmental, local and innovation stakeholders.
The first meeting focused on priorities for the European Network for Rural Development (ENRD) and the European Innovation Partnership for Agricultural Productivity and Sustainability (EIP-AGRI) network, and setting up the way of working for the years to come.
Commissioner Phil Hogan and member of the Court of Auditors Kersti Kaljulaid shared their views on how the rural development networks can help improve the implementation of rural development policy.
Commissioner Hogan stressed that this Assembly is the hub that connects rural development stakeholders throughout the EU, in order to improve policy performance.
The ENRD and EIP-AGRI networks will now fully kick off according to the strategic framework set by the Assembly.
