National Sheep Chairman John Lynskey has said the lamb trade is steady this week with factories paying from €4.80 to tops of €4.95/kg up to 23kgs carcase weights.

He said quality is important with some reports that €5.00/kg was paid for quality lots.

Ewes have also kicked on in price with €2.70 to €2.80/kg being paid.
