IFA WELCOMES DECISION TO MAINTAIN ‘PAY AND FILE’ DEADLINE IN OCTOBER

Farm Business & Credit

IFA President John Bryan has welcomed the decision by the Government to drop its proposal to bring the ‘pay and file’ deadline for self-employed back to September 30th, as it would have caused serious cashflow difficulties for farmers and related businesses.
Mr Bryan stated, “Farmers do not receive their direct payments until October. At a time when farm businesses are facing credit restrictions and cashflow difficulties because of the banking crisis, this measure would have created more financial pressure.”
