RURAL DWELLERS URGED TO BE VIGILIANT THIS CHRISTMAS – IFA

Uncategorized

IFA President John Bryan has urged farm families and all rural dwellers to be extra cautions this Christmas and keep a watch out for burglars and unusual activity.

“Christmas is an important festive and family occasion. However, when families go visiting over the Christmas season, it can provide opportunities for burglars to target farmyards and empty homes. People living in the countryside have a long tradition of community spirit and watching out for one another. It is important that neighbours check-in on each other and keep an eye out for any unusual activity.”

The IFA President added, “The increased level of burglaries in the countryside is of concern to the 947 IFA branches across the country. The Gardaí must re-invigorate the national network of community alert groups as part of the on-going fight against crime. “
