Glanbia Rolling over 0.95c/l into January Milk Price Welcome – Kiersey

IFA National Dairy Committee Chairman Kevin Kiersey welcomed the decision by the Glanbia co-op board to roll over the 0.95c/l + VAT market premium into January, which they had announced last July would end in December 11.

“This is an important gesture, at a time when Dairygold and other milk purchasers have indicated their intention to hold milk prices at least for the spring,” Kevin Kiersey said.

“I would encourage Glanbia to continue this premium beyond January: failing to do so would leave their suppliers almost 1 c/l adrift from fellow dairy farmers supplying the other main milk purchasers,” he concluded.
