Steady Lamb Trade with Strong Christmas Demand

Sheep Welfare Scheme

IFA National Sheep Chairman John Lynskey has said the lamb trade is very steady this week with strong Christmas demand.

He said factories are paying a base price of €4.80/kg with top prices of €4.85/kg paid.

There was a strong kill last week but this is equally met by strong Christmas demand and the same is expected this week.

Ewes are making from €2.50 to €2.60/kg.
