Following Budget 2019, IFA Rural Development Chairman, Joe Brady said there must be no delay in the delivery of direct payments. Minister Creed must ensure that these payments, which play a critical role in supporting farm incomes, arrive on time.

Addressing a briefing for Oireachtas members in Dublin, IFA President Joe Healy set out key priorities for the ongoing review of Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC), including protection of areas currently in the scheme and increased payments for those farming in these marginal areas.
IFA Rural Development Chairman Joe Brady has urged the Department of Agriculture to assemble all relevant data prior to the publication of new ANC maps as it is important that all facts are taken into account prior to a submission to the EU Commission.
