IFA National Livestock Chairman Angus Woods has welcomed the positive response from ICBF to the IFA request to make selection data and tags under the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) available early to suckler farmers in the scheme this year.
In order to receive payment under the Beef Data and Genomics Programme in December, all surveys in relation to animals born between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016 must be completed and returned to the ICBF by Wednesday, December 7th.
Payments under the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) will begin in December to herds who have met their 2016 requirements.
In order to be eligible to receive payment in December:
- you must complete and return all surveys in relation to animals born between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016 to the ICBF by December 7th.
- All genotyping test kits must be submitted to the relevant laboratories by December 7th
- You must have completed a carbon navigator before 30 November 2016
In the event that requirements have not been met by the specified dates, payments will continue to be made in the New Year as herds satisfy scheme requirements.
