NEW AND PROPOSED EU ANIMAL HEALTH REGULATIONS PROVIDE OPPORTUNITY TO REDUCE COST BURDEN AND BUREAUCRACY – IFAAnimal Health
In meetings with Irish MEPs on new and proposed EU regulations concerning animal health in Brussels this week, IFA Animal Health Chairman Bert Stewart said these provide the basis for MEPs to ensure access to our vital live export markets is fully protected, the costs of veterinary medicines are reduced for farmers, and imports from third countries are produced to equivalent standards as EU products.

IFA Animal Health Chairman Bert Stewart has strongly criticised the lack of action by the Department of Agriculture in providing a cost effective and competitive fallen animal collection service as farmers in parts of the country are left without a service to collect fallen sheep.
IFA Animal Health Chairman Bert Stewart said the issuing of notification letters to farmers contiguous to herds that have retained PIs is timely to allow necessary precautions to be taken in advance of the breeding season.
