The Heritage Bill proposals to extend the periods during which hedge-cutting and gorse burning are permitted should be supported to allow farmers necessary flexibilities to properly manage hedgerows and uplands, IFA National Hill Chairman Pat Dunne told the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht today.

IFA Rural Development Chairman Joe Brady has insisted that all of the funding of €624m allocated to RDP measures for 2018 in this week’s Budget must be used across the wide range of schemes, which play a vital role in supporting farm incomes.
IFA National Hill Committee Chairman Pat Dunne has urged Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed to ensure that a significant amount of the allocation to the Hen Harrier Locally-Led Scheme benefits farmers.
