Minister for Agriculture Michael Creed must deliver a well-financed and ambitious Rural Development Programme (RDP) in the forthcoming CAP negotiations – that was the clear message from this week’s IFA National Rural Development Committee meeting.
IFA Rural Development Chairman Joe Brady has said sufficient flexibilities are available to ensure that ANC payments can increase and that areas currently designated can be fully protected in the upcoming review of ANC areas in Ireland.

IFA Rural Development Chairman Joe Brady has welcomed a recent increase in Farm Assist payments, and reminded farmers that IFA offers an online calculator to help determine if they qualify for Farm Assist and what level of payment they could expect.
IFA Rural Development Chairman Joe Brady has welcomed the announcement that 250 additional places in the Rural Social Scheme have been allocated. The additional places, secured by IFA in Budget 2018, increase the total number of places on the scheme from 3,100 to 3,350.
