TIGHT SUPPLIES AND STRONGER DEMAND FOR CATTLE

Cattle

IFA National Livestock Chairman Angus Woods has said tighter supplies and stronger demand, helped by the forthcoming Euro football Championships, is helping the trade.

He said factories are increasing the steer base price to €4.00/4.05. He said heifers have kicked on more with the base at €4.10/4.15 and top prices of €4.18 paid during the week.

In addition he said weights, age or other specs are not being penalised.
