Accessibility Statement for IFA.ie

The Irish Farmers’ Association (IFA) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to achieve this goal.

Conformance Status

The European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) requires that websites and mobile applications meet the requirements of EN 301 549, which is based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA.

  • The IFA.ie website has been designed and developed with reference to these standards.
  • We aim to achieve WCAG 2.1 AA compliance across the site.
  • Some areas of the website may not yet fully meet these standards, but we are actively working to address them.

Measures to Support Accessibility

The Irish Farmers’ Association takes the following measures to ensure accessibility of IFA.ie:

  • Integrating accessibility into our website design and development processes.
  • Running regular automated audits using recognised tools
  • Conducting manual accessibility checks (e.g. keyboard navigation, screen reader testing).
  • Providing accessibility training for our content editors and staff.
  • Assigning responsibility for accessibility oversight within our digital team.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may have accessibility limitations. These include:

  • PDF and other downloadable documents that may not be fully accessible to screen readers.
  • Older content not created with accessibility in mind, which may lack proper headings, alt text, or semantic structure.
  • Embedded third-party content (such as maps or video players) that may not fully conform to accessibility standards.

We are working to resolve these issues and to ensure that all new content is created with accessibility in mind.
