Additional €10m to Support Mental Health Services Welcomed

IFA Farm Family and Social Affairs Chair, Teresa Roche has welcomed the much-needed additional support offered to mental health services.

At the National Mental Health Conference, Minister Mary Butler announced additional investment of €10m to support the development and implementation of core mental health services.

“This funding towards mental health services is an essential investment for the overall health and well-being of farm families, which will not only improve the lives of those directly affected by mental health challenges, but also contributes to a healthier, more compassionate rural Ireland,” Teresa Roche said.

“Adequate financial support enables the development of prevention programmes and early treatment approaches, while also reducing any stigma around mental health,” she added.
