CRISS is paid to all active farmers on their first 30 hectares.

How to Qualify

Those participating in CRISS are required to:

  1. Submit a Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) Scheme application, declaring their farmland located within the jurisdiction of Ireland and apply for CRISSS
  2. Be entitled to payment under BISS and hold at least 1 payment entitlement or part there of
  3. Meet the definition of an “active farmer”

Rates of Payment

The payment rate depends on uptake but is likely to be in the region of €40 – €43 per hectare. It will be paid on the first 30 hectares. Payments are not linked to the number of entitlements held by the applicant.

You apply for CRISS as part of the Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) application.
