IFA Aquaculture Welcomes Aquaculture Business Vessel Fuel Support Scheme

IFA Aquaculture Chair Finian O’Sullivan has welcomed the opening of the Aquaculture Business Vessel Fuel Support Scheme by Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM).

“IFA Aquaculture welcomes the opening of this scheme aimed at increased fuel costs for aquaculture vessels. This announcement follows engagement in recent weeks with Minister of State Timmy Dooley, DAFM officials and BIM to widen the inclusion of aquaculture vessels as part of the Fisheries & Aquaculture Fuel Support Scheme,” he said.

“We also welcome the recognition for the Irish Aquaculture sector impacted by increased fuel costs and this scheme will be an important measure for the sector. I would encourage all eligible aquaculture operators to get their applications for scheme submitted,” he concluded.

The scheme is designed to assist owners of aquaculture enterprises to offset the increased cost of fuel for their aquaculture vessels.

The call for applications closes at 5pm on July 8th.

Details on how to make an application, eligibility criteria and BIM information sessions are available on the BIM website – https://bim.ie/fisheries/funding/aquaculture-business-vessel-fuel-support-scheme/
