Closing Dates for Sheep Census and Sheep Welfare Scheme Approaching
If you haven’t yet returned your Goat and Sheep Census form, the closing date is Wednesday, January 31st unless you are making your return online.
Farmers making online returns via agfood.ie have until midnight on Wednesday, February 14th to submit.
Sheep Welfare Scheme
If you are in the Sheep Welfare Scheme, you must return a form to confirm you wish to continue to participate in Year 2 of the scheme. This form should have been sent to you and must be returned by February 2nd. Forms can also be submitted online at www.agfood.ie.
New entrants to sheep farming can apply to join the scheme for 2018. Applications must be made by February 2nd.
A new entrant is an applicant who applied for a new herd number between January 1st, 2017 and December 31st 2017 or a farmer with an existing herd number who has not held or traded in sheep in the 2 years prior to October 31st in the preceding year.
