Supports for Growers With Unharvested Crops Welcome

IFA National Grain Chairman Kieran McEvoy has welcomed news of the support payments for growers with unharvested crops, announced by the Minister for Agriculture this evening.

“Growers will be eligible for up to €20,000 in aid payments for crops which were unable to be harvested due to the very unsettled weather conditions in September and October,” he said.

The IFA National Grain Committee representatives worked tirelessly to identify growers throughout the country who had unharvested crops. This national data was then submitted to the Department of Agriculture.

The eligible area for unharvested spring cereal crops is between 2-20ha, with a payment of €1,000/ha available.

The closing date for applications is November 24th.
