Demand for retail sector is steady, as orders for the peak Christmas period are being processed. There are continued reports of some quality issues in store and demand for pre-pack quality material remains strong. Trade in the food service sector has not picked up to where it was in previous years, the next week should see improvement.
Across Europe, the free buy processing market is showing no signs of improvement. Supplies are still being offered from temporary stores with nominal values. Fresh market prices appear to be holding and with a number of quality issues in store, demand for best quality could improve as the season progresses.
