Retail trade should see an increase this week with Easter upon us, likewise the food service sector should see a boost. There is a good market for pre-packing quality stock. There are continued reports of export markets to Europe, with strong enquiries over the past weeks. Once again, the weather has been very mixed, which is hindering any field and planting progress.
Across Europe, the physical market in all sectors is described as ‘getting weaker’, particularly in the processing sector. The only bright light is demand for reds from Portugal and Eastern Europe. Plantings are taking place on and off in the U.K, likewise hindered by weather conditions.
