Anc Campaign Ramps Up with Series of Regional Meetings

IFA is stepping up our campaign to protect and improve ANCs over the coming weeks with a number of regional meetings.

The first of the meetings takes place in the Cavan on February 2nd. This meeting, covering Cavan, Monaghan, Louth and Meath, embraces an area where ANC payments have a significant impact for more than 11,000 farmers and are worth in excess of €20m. This is also the region of Minister Heather Humphreys who, along with TDs and councillors from the area, is expected to be among the huge turnout of farmers.

IFA’s ANC campaign focus is on three key aims: to maintain those areas currently designated; to restore funding to €250m per year; and, to set payment rates that reflect natural handicap.
