Beef Data & Genomics Payments Have Commenced

Payments under the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP) commenced this week, with €36 million to be paid out to 19,500 farmers who have verified compliance with requirements of the scheme.

Payments will continue to issue on an ongoing basis as farmers verify compliance with the scheme requirements so  farmers who have yet to do so should return all outstanding surveys and genotyping samples as soon as possible to facilitate payment.

The Beef Data and Genomics Programme aims to support the suckler herd by improving the genetic merit of the national herd through the collection of data and genotyping animals and to lower greenhouse gas emissions by improving quality and efficiency.
