IFA – Advanced Payment Must Be Delivered on Time

IFA President John Bryan has said the Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney must insist that the 50% advanced payment of the Single Farm Payment be delivered in full from October 16th this year, including payment for all inspection cases. He said farmers are disappointed that a 70% advance was not secured and Minister Coveney must insist that the case is re-examined.
Welcoming the EU clearance for the advance payment, which he said would be a major boost to cash flow in a dreadful year weather wise, John Bryan said “An advance payment of 50% would help ease cashflow problems on farms, which are now very difficult because of the significantly higher costs and lower prices.” He said payments under all schemes must be made on time.
