Sell Through Your Local Mart – IFA
IFA National Livestock Chairman Henry Burns has advised all farmers to sell their livestock through their local mart, where competition is maximised and security of payment is guaranteed. He said farmers selling in any other way must insist on advance payment for their stock in order to avoid risk and exposure.
Henry Burns said live exporters are very active in the livestock marts and on the ground in sourcing weanlings for export. He said the very strong demand is leading to increased competition for suitable stock, with strong prices.
Henry Burns said some exporters have increased their activity in purchasing weanlings directly from farmers.
