PLANNERS MUST GET GLAS NUTRIENT MANAGEMENT PLANS IN

Farm Schemes, Rural Development

IFA Rural Development Chairman Joe Brady has called on planners to submit all outstanding GLAS nutrient management plans. 15,000 plans are currently outstanding, holding up the final 15% payment due to the farmers involved.

Joe Brady also pointed out that submitting the nutrient management plan at this time will help in the first instalment of the 2017 GLAS payment due to be made at the end of October.

The Rural Development Chairman called on the Department of Agriculture to make all outstanding payments to the 1,000 farmers who have yet to receive the first 85% for 2016.

Including GLAS III, 50,000 farmers are due a GLAS payment in October.
