IFA’s Environment Chairman Harold Kingston has described recent greenhouse gas figures produced by the EPA as “proof of the agri-food sector’s carbon efficient growth, with emissions declining by 9% since 1990, while exports from the sector grew for the sixth consecutive year to €10.8billion.”

Harold Kingston, IFA’s Environment Chairman has told delegates attending the international climate talks in Paris that Ireland’s global leadership position in carbon efficient food production provides opportunities for the sustainable development of the sector and the transfer of sustainability knowledge to other countries.

IFA Environment and Rural Affairs Chairman Harold Kingston has again restated his call on the Department of Transport and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) to work with IFA and farmers and put in place a robust package of measures for all landowners impacted by greenways throughout the country, following the decision not to progress with the planned greenway from Dublin to Galway.
