IFA Deputy President Richard Kennedy told a Charter of Farmers’ Rights meeting in Portlaoise today that the Department of Agriculture must introduce proper and effective procedures to deal with farmers’ complaints in relation to problem inspections.
With two weeks left to the May 15th Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) deadline, IFA Deputy President Richard Kennedy is urging farmers to make sure they get their applications in as soon as possible. More than 70,600 farmers have so far submitted a 2018 BPS application.

Speaking following a meeting of the Charter of Farmers Rights Monitoring Committee this week, IFA Deputy President Richard Kennedy said IFA made it very clear to the Department of Agriculture that the IT issues across a number of schemes, including GLAS, KT and TAMS must be resolved immediately so farmers can be paid without further delay.
