Farm Schemes and Payments

Farmers can apply for a number of Farm schemes and direct payments, funded through EU CAP funding and/or National Exchequer funding.


Direct Payments under CAP Pillar I


Since 2015, the direct payment under Pillar 1 of CAP is no longer a single payment but may be a combination of separate schemes:

All eligible applicants will receive the Basic Payment and Greening Payment. The Young Farmer Scheme and Aid for protein crops are additional payments for those who qualify.


Rural Development Schemes under CAP Pillar II


Rural Development Schemes are jointly funded under CAP Pillar II and National Funding. The schemes currently in operation in Ireland are:
